CSAV starts China/South Africa service

CSAV starts China/South Africa service    Chilean liner carrier CSAV said Thursday it will begin a service linking China and South Africa on July 28.
   The New Discovery service will be operated with seven 2,500-TEU vessels with a rotation of Xingang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Durban, Cape Town, Singapore and Xingang.
   It's the third CSAV service to connect to South Africa. The line's Marco Polo service links South Africa with South America, the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, while its ASAX service connects Asia and South America via Durban — though the carrier said Durban stop in both directions on the ASAX service will be deleted in mid-August.
   It’s a crowded landscape, with 15 services connecting China with Durban or Cape Town, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
