WiseTech acquires logistics solutions provider CMS Transport Systems

The purchase of CMS Transport Systems, a provider of integrated road transport and logistics management systems, is WiseTech Global’s fourth acquisition in the past seven weeks and its sixth of 2017.

For the fourth time in just under two months and the sixth time this year, Australian software provider WiseTech Global is obtaining a logistics services company. Its latest acquisition is CMS Transport Systems, a provider of integrated road transport and logistics management systems.
According to WiseTech, CMS’ operations are expected to remain under the leadership of managing director Robert Mullins and general manager Grant Walmsley as the company is integrated within the WiseTech Global group.
CMS runs a transport management system, Freight 2020, for over 130 corporations in Australia and New Zealand. The company’s expected to continue delivering Freight 2020, and eventually WiseTech’s global logistics execution platform, CargoWise One, which is currently deployed in 125 countries.
“Joining WiseTech, the market leader with scale and capacity to accelerate innovation, allows us to combine our vision and deliver on a product roadmap utilizing CMS’s decades of road freight industry knowledge,” CMS Managing Director Robert Mullins said. “Their resources and technology will enable us to take integrated land transport solutions to a new level.”
The CMS purchase is WiseTech Global’s fourth acquisition in the past seven weeks.
On July 5, WiseTech revealed that it was acquiring Bysoft, Brazil’s largest customs solution provider; on Aug. 9, it purchased Digerati, and Australasian specialist tariff compliance software provider; and on Aug. 11, it acquired Taiwanese forwarding and customs solutions provider Prolink.
Additionally, WiseTech bought Italian customs solutions provider ACO Informatica in early February, while in late January, it acquired German customs solutions provider znet Group GmbH.
“As with our targeted acquisitions in Germany, Italy, Brazil and Taiwan earlier this year, and our recent Digerati transaction, bringing CMS into the WiseTech group accelerates our ability to improve the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of logistics solutions for our customers,” WiseTech Global CEO Richard White explained.
