Vancouver approves builder for terminal expansion The Vancouver Port Authority has awarded a construction contract for the marine works portion of the Deltaport third berth expansion to Deltaport Constructors Ltd., a project-specific joint venture between Vancouver Pile and Dredge Ltd. and Graham Construction and Engineering Ltd., the port said Wednesday.
   The $195 million contract covers the dredge, fill and berth work associated with the expansion. Deltaport's terminal operator, TSI Terminal Systems Inc., will tender the terminal infrastructure portion separately.
   Expansion of Deltaport is scheduled to begin in January. The project received the go-ahead from the Canadian Minister of Environment in early November and has now received authorization from the country's Department of Fisheries and Oceans. In addition to the marine works contract, the port will also invest between $20 million and $30 million in environmental mitigation initiatives.
