Turkish airline ACT commits for two A330-200 freighters stanbul-headquartered ACT Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for two A330-200 freighter aircraft that will allow the Turkish airline to offer non-stop services between Istanbul to Hong Kong, Singapore and New York.
   Financial details were not disclosed.
   Airbus launched the A330-200F earlier this year and said that the widebody aircraft provides 30 percent more volume than any other freighter in its class. It can accommodate both pallets and containers and is capable of carrying 64 tons of cargo up to 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 kilometers) in standard “range mode,” or 69 tons up to 3,200 nautical miles (5,930 kilometers) in “payload mode.”
   “Expanding our fleet with the Airbus A330-200F will allow us to further meet Turkey's demand for air cargo transportation,” said Yavuz Cizmeci, ACT’s chief executive officer.
