Jacobs joins Inchcape

Jacobs joins Inchcape    Flemming Jacobs, former chief executive officer of Neptune Orient Lines and APL Liner, has joined the board of Inchcape Shipping Services, the U.K.-based marine services provider acquired in January by Dubai-based Istithmar PJSC.
   Jacobs is also a former partner of A.P. Moller and one-time head of Maersk Line. He serves on the boards of several maritime-related companies including Icelandic shipping-to-logistics company Samskip, Swedish shipping group Stena and the advisory board of the Panama Canal.
   Istithmar is the investment arm of Dubai Board of Ports, which also controls DP World, the company at the center of the U.S. ports controversy. The Broward County Commissioners, which have direct oversight over Port Everglades, said last month they want to take a closer look at ISS Marine Services, a ships agent affiliated with Inchcape.
