ZIM adds calls to Asia-U.S. East Coast loops

The Israeli ocean carrier is adding a call to Wilmington, N.C. to its Z7S service, and a call to Charleston, S.C. to its ZCP service.    Israeli ocean carrier ZIM will be adding calls to Wilmington, N.C. and Charleston, S.C. in its Asia-U.S. East Coast portfolio, the company said Monday.
   The new Wilmington call will be added to the ZIM Seven Star service (Z7S) with the first vessel to call the port being the ZIM Shanghai on June 17.
   The new Charleston call will be added to the ZIM Container Service Pacific (ZCP) with the first vessel to call the port being the Juliette Rickmers on May 18.
   According to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, the Z7S was suspended in September 2016, but will return with the April 16 departure from Da Chan Bay. The rotation for the upcoming Z7S will be Da Chan Bay, Yantian, Cai Mep, Port Kelang, Colombo, New York, Norfolk, Wilmington, Savannah, Port Kelang and back to Da Chan Bay.
   The current rotation for the ZCP is Savannah, Norfolk, New York, Halifax, Kingston, Slavyanka, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Rodman, Kingston and back to Savannah.
