Carpenter was senior vice president of business and strategic development for Aramark International. He also served three years as president of Aramark Healthcare, a $1.7 billion division covering more than 1,100 hospitals in the United States. Before that he worked 11 years at Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals.
Miquel Lopera, who has been serving as CEO of GS1 US since 2004, while simultaneously serving as CEO of Brussels-based GS1, will focus on the company's global activities.
