During the past three months, thefts were down by 9 percent compared to the preceding three-month period, but the average value skyrocketed by 58 percent.
Thefts involving the food and drink sector accounted for 22 percent of the incidents during the three months from August to October, while theft in the electronics arena also remained popular. Thirty percent of the total number of thefts occurred in California, with 15 percent happening in Texas and 12 percent occurring in Florida.
