China, U.S. meet in dispute over coated paper China is asking the United States to suspend antidumping and antisubsidy measures targeting Chinese coated paper, claiming they violate World Trade Organization rules.
   The two countries met Friday under the WTO’s dispute settlement process.
   China’s Xinhua News Agency quoted Chinese trade officials as saying that from November 2006 to July 2007, the United States launched five antidumping and antisubsidy investigations into Chinese coated paper and steel tubes, which involved 635 Chinese enterprises with 70,000 employees and goods worth $860 million.
   The news agency said this is the first time China has filed a WTO case against the United States since the company gained entry into the trade organization in 2001.
