New OTM release gives shippers landed cost simulation capability

An update to Oracle’s transportation management system and complementary global trade management system includes a landed cost simulator, and rate maintenance enhancements.    Oracle on Monday released new versions of its transportation management and global trade management solutions, with new functionality aimed at helping shippers better delineate total landed costs.
   Version 6.4 of Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle Global Trade Management, which are delivered as a package, allows users to create landed cost simulations for different sourcing options, as well as visibility into customs value, duty and tax amounts and financial benefits of available free trade agreements.
   The Landed Cost Simulator is designed to help shippers make more informed sourcing decisions and optimize the supplier selection process.
   Other features included in the new release are enhancements to Oracle’s configurable fleet management user workbench and a rate maintenance system that collects, formats, loads, and modifies rates for OTM users in all transportation modes.
   New functionality on the GTM side are focused on allowing shippers to proactively manage the pre-shipment process, enabling users determine customs valuation and calculate applicable duties, taxes and import fees.
