CMA CGM carriers to join U.S./Oceania VSA

CMA CGM carriers to join U.S./Oceania VSA CMA CGM subsidiaries ANL and U.S. Lines (USL) are set to join the U.S. West Coast/Australasia Oceania Vessel Sharing Agreement of Hamburg S'd, Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk Line.
   Pending regulatory approval, the two CMA CGM companies will in August integrate their joint ANZL/AUS2 service within the Oceania VSA operations.
   Soon after acquiring USL in December, CMA CGM restructured the service by eliminating calls to ports in the Far East. The service uses seven ships in the 1,100-TEU to 1,300-TEU range calling Oakland, Long Beach, Tauranga, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Tauranga, Napier, and Oakland.
   Following the planned changes, the three Oceania VSA services will operate as follows:
   ' Pacific Southwest String 1 (PSW-1): weekly frequency using six 2,500-TEU vessels calling Long Beach, Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, Tauranga, Suva (three per month), Honolulu (monthly), Oakland, and Long Beach.
   ' Pacific Southwest String 2 (PSW-2): fortnightly pattern using three ships of 1,300 TEUs. Port rotation of Long Beach, Tauranga, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Tauranga (to be confirmed), and Long Beach.
   ' Pacific Northwest (PNW): fortnightly from Seattle, Vancouver, Long Beach, Tauranga, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland, Papeete, Ensenada, Oakland and Seattle. The service will employ four 1,700-TEU vessels.
