CargoWise pulls in Lasso

   CargoWise, a technology provider for logistics service companies, has announced a new deal with Lasso Logistics to implement its hosted ediEnterprise service.
   Lasso, which operates supply chain and product services across Australia and China, said it chose CargoWise to improve efficiency in its international operations.
   Lasso’s move away from legacy systems and to a technology partner that can provide software growth is part of a growing trend in logistics management. Shannon Nipperess, Lasso’s general manager, referred to the 3PL’s existing IT platform as “primitive.”
   “Keeping down time to a minimum level was important for us, without the need to have an in-house IT department, or the capital outlay for expensive servers,” she said. “The hosted ediEnterprise package allows us to add or take away units and users as we please.”
   The ediEnterprise software is an integrated single platform supply chain and logistics management system.
