C.H. Robinson said it had fourth quarter net profit of $103 million, 17.6 percent more than in the same 2009 period.
Revenue was $2.3 billion and net transportation revenue was $342 million, both 16 percent increases.
Fourth quarter results by segment were:
' Truck revenue was $290 million, up 16 percent over the same 2009 period.
' Intermodal revenue was $9.4 million, up 9 percent.
' Ocean revenue was $16.7 million, up 23 percent.
' Air revenue was $10.7 million, up 16 percent.
' Revenue from other logistic services was $14 million, up 17.5 percent.
“There is still a lot of uncertainty in the marketplace,' said John P. Wiehoff, chairman and chief executive officer. 'While supply and demand variables continue to be volatile in most of our services, we have much better net revenue growth momentum going into 2011 than we had the last few years.”
“In January 2011, compared to January 2010, we have achieved consolidated net revenue growth, per business day, in the mid-teens. Our North American truckload volumes increased approximately 7 percent in January,” he said. “A lot could change in marketplace demand and capacity availability as the year progresses, but we are pleased with our early results so far this year.”
