Ceres starts operations at Port Canaveral

Ceres starts operations at Port Canaveral    Ceres Marine Terminals, Inc., a subsidiary of Japan-based NYK, has started stevedoring and terminal services at Port Canaveral for Royal Caribbean cruise lines.
   Port officials described the addition of Ceres as a “milestone” in the port's efforts to offer world-class marine terminal operations.
   “This partnership reinforces Port Canaveral's efforts to provide the highest quality service and capabilities that a metropolitan cruise and cargo port can offer to its customers,” says Tom Goodson, chairman of the port's board of commissioners. “It is beneficial both for Port Canaveral and for the economic base of the area economy.”
   Added Lars Ljoen, vice president of business development for Ceres Terminals Inc.: “Ceres welcomes this new opportunity to work with such a dynamic marine and cruise port as Port Canaveral. Together we can work toward the common goal to secure new cargo and cruise business.”
   Ceres is expanding its presence in Florida. It is also in the process of obtaining an operating license at the Port of Tampa.
