PORT OF BOSTON PREPARES TO RESUME LNG DELIVERIES    The Port of Boston is prepared to receive its first LNG vessel this week since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.
   The Coast Guard captain in the port issued an order to prohibit LNG tankers from entering the port on Sept. 26. A plan was developed by the Coast Guard, Department of Energy, Massachusetts Emergency Management Administration, and fire and police departments of Boston and Everett. A detailed security analysis was also reviewed by the FBI and found to be satisfactory. The closure order was rescinded by the Coast Guard captain in the port on Oct. 16, and a federal judge determined that shipments can continue.
   More than 430 LNG shipments have safely transited the Port of Boston during the past 30 years. “This is a collaborative effort in the unified command, not a unilateral one,” the Coast Guard’s First District said. “No one agency can do this alone.”
   The agency also said that due to operational and port security concerns, that it would not discuss the specific security procedures that will be in place when LNG shipments arrive in the port.
