CKYH slows Asia-Europe loops

CKYH slows Asia-Europe loops    The CKYH Alliance (Cosco Container Lines, 'K' Line, Yang Ming, and Hanjin Shipping) have begun slow steaming two services between Asia and Northern Europe, according to American Shipper research affiliate ComPair Data.
The alliance's NE1 and NE4 services are going slower to compensate for planned skipped sailings in February, part of the lines' winter capacity reduction measures. It's similar to what the lines have done with their Asia-Med services.
The NE1 service will skip its Feb. 4 sailing, while the NE4 will skip its Feb. 17 sailing, with both services extending their round-trip from 63 to 70 days with no adjustments to port rotations.

According to ComPair Data, the service is operated with 10 vessels (five from Cosco, four from Hanjin and one currently unallocated due to the skipped sailing) with an average capacity of 9,780 TEUs.
The NE4 rotation is Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Said, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Qingdao. It's operated with 10 vessels (four each from 'K' Line and Yang Ming, one from Hanjin and one currently unallocated) with an average capacity of 8,369 TEUs. ' Eric Johnson
