Menlo Logistics’ India operation has added 13 sites since 2007, bringing the total to 18, and grown its employee base to 700 full-time and part-time staff. The company has increased gross revenue in India has by five times since 2007.
“Our customers are expanding their operations across India, driven by consumer demand as car and truck sales increase,” Amit Dhingra, director of operations in India, said in a statement. “We are supporting that growth by moving to a larger, more modern facility for one of our leading automotive customers. We are planning to have the facility certified to Lean Bronze standard by the third quarter of 2015.”
AirBridgeCargo Airlines, part of Volga-Dnepr Group, has added twice-weekly flights to Los Angeles to its North America airfreight operations. The company began serving the North American market in 2011 with flights to Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth.
“Launching Los Angeles flights is part of our ongoing commitment to develop our presence in the U.S. market and follows strong customer interest in both China and the United States,” said Sales and Marketing SVP Robert van de Weg. “The Los Angeles service will complement our global network and this will benefit customers that have relied on our services for more than 10 years now. Thanks to the highly valued support of our clients, ABC has become one of the world’s fastest growing international cargo airlines with an average growth rate of 11% over the last five years.”
Supply chain services provider UTi Worldwide Inc. relocated its Frankfurt office has relocated within Cargo City South to a facility that “better serves the growing needs of its air freight forwarding clients, particularly those in the pharmaceutical industry,” according to a statement from the company.
The new facility features 3,000 square meters of office space, 6,700 square meters of warehouse space, 10 truck docks, 10-foot and 20-foot roller beds, and a 6-meter-by-4-meter ramp for direct goods delivery. The warehouse will also be equipped with cold-chain features and active temperature-controlled sections with 265 pallet bay capacity meeting pharmaceutical Good Distribution Practices standards.
Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. opened a new service center in Omaha, Nebraska. The 10-door facility is the company’s first location in the state.
With 46 service centers in the Midwest region, the Dayton, Ohio-based LTL carrier offers one and two-day service to thousands of destinations throughout 12 states.
