Spain-based specialty food manufacturer opens Miami operation

Spain-based specialty food manufacturer opens Miami operation Precocinados de Corella S.A., a large manufacturer of authentic Spanish and Mediterranean canned foods, has opened an office in Doral that serves as the headquarters for its U.S. production, distribution, and franchise operations.
   The company, which has an existing production facility in Puerto Rico, has a 4,910-square-foot facility and made an initial investment of $1.7 million, according to the Beacon Council, a public-private agency for business development in Miami-Dade County. Precocinados de Corella said it plans to expand over the next three years and use the Miami/Doral base to expand into the rest of the state.
   Precocinados de Corella produces canned foods, such as stuffed peppers, fish, and olives. The importer stressed the authenticity of its Spanish and Mediterranean products, working in collaboration with the Institute of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Navarra 'to ensure the authenticity and nutritional value of the Mediterranean diet, as well as their appeal to consumers in the Americas.' The international headquarters is located in Navarra, Spain.
