U.S. to allow Zambian baby squash, courgette imports The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will amend its regulations to allow the import of baby squash and baby courgettes into the United States from Zambia, effective Jan. 20.
   The commodities must be produced in line with a 'systems approach' that includes requirements for pest exclusion at the production locations, fruit fly trapping inside and outside production sites, and pest-excluding packinghouse measures. Both commodities must also be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate with an additional declaration that the measures were carried out.
