Dania enters dry cargo partnership with Clipper Fleet

Under the agreement, Clipper Fleet Management is transferring 28 shore-based employees and about 1,000 seafarers to Dania Ship Management in the coming weeks, according to a joint statement from the companies.    Denmark-based companies Dania Ship Management and Clipper Fleet Management have reached an agreement under which Clipper Fleet will transfer 28 shore-based employees and about 1,000 seafarers to Dania, the companies confirmed Dec. 15.
   Dania Ship Management, headquartered in Copenhagen, was established June 1, 2017 as a partnership between global chemical tanker company Nordic Tankers Trading and offshore vessel management provider V.Group.
   Clipper Fleet Management, part of ship operator and owner Clipper Group, performs the direct technical management of 26 dry-cargo vessels. It operates from Copenhagen and Mumbai, India.
   “With access to V.Group’s global marine services offering and Dania’s ship management platform, the partnership will support Clipper Group to deliver high quality and efficient management of their fleet,” the companies said in a joint statement.
   “Our aim when we created Dania Ship Management,” company CEO Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt said, “was to develop a strong Danish ship management solution. Extending our capabilities to include dry cargo management is an important next step and we are delighted to welcome the partnership with Clipper Fleet Management.”
   “This new partnership agreement with Dania Ship Management provides Clipper Fleet Management the perfect platform for future growth – benefiting our clients as well as the organization and employees – both on shore and at sea,” Clipper Group CEO Peter Norborg added.
   The two companies said they expected to operate under separate Documents of Compliance to ensure they continue to meet the specialist requirements of both tanker and dry cargo clients.
   The companies gave no firm indication as to when the transition is to begin or how long it will take, offering only that the change is expected to be completed “shortly.”
