Associated Terminal opens bulk warehouse at Port of St. Bernard

Associated Terminal opens bulk warehouse at Port of St. Bernard Associated Terminals has started construction on a high-capacity dockside bulk warehouse at the Port of St. Bernard in Louisiana.
   The facility, scheduled to open by the end of the year, includes a 40,000-square-foot covered warehouse, with hopper and conveyor system. The structure is being built next to Chalmette Slip Dock No. 1.
   “Annual ship calls have risen from 70 to 200 since Associated Terminals took over cargo operations in 2003,” Robert J. Scafidel, executive director of the St. Bernard Port.
   Associated Terminals, based in Chalmette, La., provides general and bulk cargo handling, truck and rail loading and unloading, warehousing and storage at the ports of St. Bernard, Greater Baton Rouge, South Louisiana and Manchac.
