Dallas forwarder to use Intellect system

   Dallas-based freight forwarder World Trade Cargo & Logistics, Inc. (WTCL) has has begun using eFreight from technology provider Intellect Technologies, the company said this week.
   The Intellect eFreight system is designed for forwarders to provide e-commerce capabilities and direct access to U.S. Customs and to ocean carriers.
   “It’s a configurable system that allowed us to make changes to meet our specific workflow requirements, and the Intellect Customer Portal feature allows us to extend our ability to exchange data with our customers 24-7 without adding additional resources,” said Rolanda Leslie, WTCL vice president.
   New Jersey-based Intellect also said this week it has updated its eCustoms solution. eCustoms is a standalone Web-based solution that provides an interface to U.S. Customs. The product is offered on a licensed monthly basis, with fees based on the actual number of transactions processed.
