Maersk shifting 700,000 TEUs from Busan old port to New Port

Maersk shifting 700,000 TEUs from Busan old port to New Port Maersk Line will move eight of its 10 services to Dubai Ports World's Busan New Port facility in South Korea, the Dubai-based terminal operator said Thursday.
   Two joint services will remain at Busan's North Port terminal.
   'Maersk Line will bring an anticipated volume of more than 700,000 TEUS per annum to PNC, in addition to creating more jobs at the container terminal,' DP World said in a statement. 'PNC also expects a rapid increase in the number of common feeders calling at PNC to service the substantial new volumes of Maersk Line and the main line services already committed to the facility. These include CSAV, ZIM, Emirates and United Arab Shipping Co. Recently new logistics facilities opened in the support area bordering the terminal that boosts its existing capability to support the growth of the main line and feeder operators.'
