Bhatia to leave USTR post

Bhatia to leave USTR post Karan K. Bhatia will leave his post as deputy of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in October and return to the private sector.
   Bhatia has served the Bush administration for six years, including twice as deputy U.S. trade representative. Prior to his appointments at the USTR, Bhatia served as assistant secretary of transportation for aviation and international affairs at the Transportation Department and as deputy undersecretary of industry and security at the Commerce Department.
   During his time at the USTR, Bhatia negotiated the administration's U.S.-South Korea free trade agreement, oversaw Vietnam's accession to the World Trade Organization, and launched the U.S.-India Trade Policy Forum.
