CANADA EASES RULES ON CLEARING SPLIT MARITIME SHIPMENTS    The Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency revised this month rules for clearing multiple marine containers listed on a single shipment document.
   In an April 4 memo to shippers' associations, CCRA said the new policy is designed to reduce delays and shippers' storage charges on in-land moves in which the containers arrive separately over a period of days.
   Under the new policy, importers can submit a request to release cargo with minimal documentation as long as at least one off the containers has arrived at the destination warehouse and the remaining containers have reached the maritime port of entry.
   The policy is geared to cases in which steamship lines submit paper cargo declarations because they do not have electronic connections to the customs agency.
