Sandler to give keynote at NIT League’s free-trade logistics seminar    Gilbert Lee Sandler, founding partner of Miami-based law firm Sandler, Travis and Rosenberg, will give the keynote speech at the National Industrial Transportation League’s first seminar devoted to exploring the impact of free trade on shippers’ logistics management.
   Sandler has been appointed by the last five presidential administrations to advise the U.S. government on international trade negotiations, including the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) Uruguay Round, the Free Trade Area of the Americas, North American Free Trade Agreement, Customs Valuation Code, Harmonized Classification Code, and the Kyoto Convention. He recently completed a four-year term on the Advisory Committee on Treasury on Customs Commercial Operations (COAC) and provided industry input for the development of the Homeland Security Department.
   Sandler also serves on the board of the American Association of Exporters and Importers and the steering committee of the Joint Industry Group. In addition, he serves on many Florida state and Miami industry forums.
   The NIT League seminar will begin with a June 20 evening reception and continue with a full day of sessions on June 21. The program is produced in cooperation with The Cameron Group and American Shipper magazine.
   The seminar offers an “insiders” perspective into such areas as free trade agreements, duty suspensions, tariffs and related programs. “Leading experts will help you understand how this information may be processed and used for you and your company’s advantage,” the NIT League said.
