All cargo categories improved traffic volumes. Liquid bulk rose by 3.6 percent to 8.8 million tons. Dry bulk movement grew by 3.4 percent to 23.6 million tons. General cargo traffic recorded a slight increase of 0.8 percent to reach 3.5 million tons.
Hans Gerson, executive director of the Amsterdam Port Authority, said that the total traffic volume for the full year is expected to exceed 70 million tons of goods.
