The new updates are largely geared toward cutting operating costs, improving asset utilization, and enhancing existing customer service operations. Paragon’s support director Phil Ingham said the company expects these and similar improvements to help it expand in the U.S. market.
A key to many of the updates is automating processes. Ingham specifically pointed to enhanced automatic routing capabilities which can be used to develop a plan on fleet reductions in an effort to control and cut costs. Customers can also stop automatic routing operations currently in place, review their existing results, and tailor the system to much more specific criteria and produce related reports.
Like most systems, Paragon has updated its mapping system to display information on the Google Maps platform. While this doesn’t necessarily set the company apart, it is a solid move since many of their users will be familiar with Google Maps for personal use. Using a familiar system will ease the overall process and makes directions and navigation much more comfortable for the driver.
One other important update is the ability to select language choices for individual user levels as well as allowing the software to support Unicode capabilities. This means that international clients can find what is best suited for their drivers and when hosting the software they no longer need servers dedicated to different regions for this support, cutting IT costs.
