Unisys, based McLean, Va., will provide the TSA with hardware and software services, help desk, network/security operations and business process reengineering support.
“The Transportation Security Administration continues its progress toward meeting the mandates of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act,” said Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta in a statement Monday. “Unisys Corp. will provide highly effective, secure and reliable computing resources and, working with our other partners, will provide seamless technology services and support to our employees in the field and at headquarters.”
Working with the Homeland Security Office’s Chief Information Officer Investment Review Board, TSA plans, pending availability of funds, to work with Unisys to fulfill its requirements for technology for TSA’s Field/Headquarters Infrastructure Deployment and Enterprise Operations Center Deployment.
“Technology is a vital part of our mission to ensure the security of our nation’s airports,” said James M. Loy, DOT’s acting undersecretary of transportation for security. “Ensuring that our people have the best technology available to meet our mission is one of my highest priorities.”
Unisys will team up with DynCorp Systems and Solutions of Reston, Va., and IBM in Gaithersburg, Md., on the TSA systems contract.
