Deringer expands use of CargoSphere to truck rate management

The customs broker and forwarder previously used CargoSphere’s platform for timely ocean and air quotes, and will now use the rate software provider’s trucking module as well.    The customs brokers and freight forwarder A.N. Deringer has recently renewed its contract to use freight rate software from CargoSphere, the technology company said Thursday.
   Deringer will expand its use of CargoSphere’s cloud-based confidential rate management solution Rate Mesh, which allows the company to receive air and ocean rates from agent partners in real-time, creating a systematized rate database. Deringer is able to compare pricing from a range of carriers and quickly respond to customer quote requests. They use CargoSphere’s quoting module for international quotes and recently expanded their usage by adding CargoSphere’s trucking module to quote for domestic moves.
   “It solves the problem of having to wait 24 hours to get quotes out to customers,” said Matt Parrott, director of transportation at Deringer. “It’s a tool that offers competitive differentiation for our business.”
