Off the menu: Headless rats seized by British customs officers British Customs officers at the Port of Tilbury have seized 340 kilograms of headless rats destined for African restaurants in London, according to the Daily Mail.
   The U.K. newspaper reported that customs officials discovered the smoked giant cane rats during an inspection of a shipment of synthetic hair from Ghana, where the animals are apparently considered a delicacy.
   A 42-year-old West African woman has been arrested in London in connection with the illegal importation and later bailed pending further enquiries.
   “This discovery of bushmeat has stopped an illegal and unregulated product with health implications from reaching our streets,” said John Kaye, HM Revenue & Customs assistant director of criminal investigations at Ipswich.
