World Shipping Council elects board members

World Shipping Council elects board members    Kenji Mizushima, chief executive officer of NYK's global liner management division and board director, has been elected to the board of directors of the World Shipping Council, filling the position held by Masakazu Yakushiji of MOL.
   The council also re-elected four board members to new, two-year terms: Thomas Crowley Jr., Crowley Maritime; Rafi Danieli, Zim; Y.M. Kim, Hanjin; and Ron Widdows, NOL. Widdows serves as chairman of the WSC board of directors.
   Other members of the council's board are: Philip Chow, OOCL; Morten H. Engelstoft of Maersk who was elected to the board in June; Joachim A. Konrad, Hamburg S'd; Ulrich Kranich, Hapag-Lloyd; Rodolphe Saad', CMA CGM; and Sun Jia-Kang, COSCO.
   The World Shipping Council is an association of liner shipping companies whose members carry more than 90 percent of international containerized trade.
