Century creates mobile app for customers

   Century Distribution Systems has created a mobile app that allows customers to track their sea and air freight shipments, as well as find factory locations, the company announced Friday.
   The VMS Mobile app is available on iPhones, iPads and Androids, and offers shipment search, alerts, a factory GPS locator and news updates.
   “Customers need the flexibility to access shipment status with whatever device they prefer, no matter where they are,” stated Jim McCullen, vice president of information systems. “With VMS Mobile, our customers can stay on top of time-critical shipments and access real-time updates as their merchandise moves through the pipeline and transitions from one transportation mode to another.”
   Century Distribution Systems is a subsidiary of “K” Line.
