U.S. awards Pakistan cold storage study grant    The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a $392,328 grant to Frigipak on Wednesday that will promote the establishment of a network of cold storage facilities in five urban areas in Pakistan.
   The study will examine the existing cold chain infrastructure in Pakistan with a focus on improving the post-harvest system through commercial development of cold storage facilities, the agency said. It will also consider technological improvements, determine post-harvest capabilities, and assess the viability of the network's business plan.
   The USTDA said the World Food Logistics Organization, one of four founding members of the Global Cold Chain Alliance and a nonprofit organization specializing in food logistics, will conduct the feasibility study.
