EUROPE/MIDEAST CARRIERS INCREASE BUNKER CHARGE

EUROPE/MIDEAST CARRIERS INCREASE BUNKER CHARGE    Shipping lines of the Europe Middle East Rate Agreement and Jeddah Service Group will increase the level of their bunker adjustment factors, effective Dec. 1.
   The charge will rise to $50 per TEU, from the current level of $40 per TEU.
   The conferences said that increased bunker costs are again affecting carriers operating in the trade.
   The carriers of the Europe Middle East Rate Agreement are Andrew Weir Shipping (Ellerman), CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, P&O Nedlloyd, Safmarine, Senator Lines and United Arab Shipping Co.
   The members of the Jeddah Service Group are CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia, NYK, P&O Nedlloyd and United Arab Shipping Co.
