ATLANTSSKIP MAY ADD CANADA TO U.S./ICELAND SERVICE Atlantsskip ehf is contemplating the addition of Canadian ports as part of a recently filed space charter agreement covering shipments moving between Norfolk, Va. and the ports of Njardvik and Reykjavik in Iceland.
   Under the agreement, Atlantsskip will make space available to Samskip hf for the carriage of 60 TEUs, including a minimum of 20 FEUs of reefer containers in each voyage in the trade.
   The current agreement — which is awaiting clearance by the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission –provides for a U.S. port call approximately every 24 days.
   If port calls in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, Canada, are added, the service would become an approximately 28-day service departing from Iceland every fourth Friday. However, the parties said an addition of Canadian ports must be approved by the U.S. Department of Defense.
   The parties also said they understand if Canada is added to the service, antitrust immunity will not apply to any transportation services between Canada and Iceland.
