NYK joins Hanjin Far East/Mideast loop

NYK joins Hanjin Far East/Mideast loop    Hanjin Shipping said Thursday it is switching partners on a service it operates linking the Far East and Middle East.
   Hanjin's FMX service, which was operated with STX PanOcean and Sinokor, will be operated with NYK Line from early July. Hanjin has provided four of the six vessels on the service, with STX and Sinokor each providing one. From July 7, Hanjin will provide five and NYK one.
   Additionally, the average vessel size on the service will increase from 4,866 TEUs, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, to 6,200 to 6,500 TEUs per vessel.
   The rotation will change to Busan, Gwangyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Colombo, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Port Klang, Singapore and Busan.
   The revised rotation eliminates calls at Qingdao and Kaohsiung.
