CBP prepares industry payouts for antidumping collections

CBP prepares industry payouts for antidumping collections    U.S. manufacturers and producers have until July 30 to submit 2007 claims for relief from injury caused by foreign dumping and subsidies that have artificially cut the price of goods sold, and made it harder for U.S. companies to compete.
Customs and Border Protection this week published a list of companies that are entitled to file a claim under the so-called Byrd amendment, which requires the agency to disburse to domestic firms the antidumping and countervailing duties it collects on certain products from importers.
Under the law, the money is given to aggrieved companies rather than go to the U.S. Treasury. At the end of each fiscal year, the money collected in industry-specific accounts is paid out directly to companies that have filed antidumping complaints against foreign competitors.
For a list of companies who are eligible to be reimbursed and how much they can receive, go to https://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/import/add_cvd/cont_dump/2007_final_prlim_rpt.ctt/2007_final_prlim_rpt.pdf .
