Israeli airline gains Environtainer status

   Envirotainer has picked C.A.L Cargo Airlines as the first airline from Israel to earn its status as a qualified Envirotainer provider, signaling the airline has passed the requisite training to manage Envirotainer shipments.
   The airline, which is only the eighth carrier in the world to gain such a status, can now handled the unit-load devices (ULDs) out of its stations in Tel Aviv, Liege and New York-JFK.
   Envirotainer started the program at the behest of healthcare companies to help these organizations better select carriers that could transport time- and temperature-sensitive shipments. According to an Envirotainer press release, the pharmaceutical market in Israel is expected to hit the $28 billion mark by the end of next year. – Jon Ross
