BOLERO SIGNS UP JAPAN TOBACCO INC.    Bolero.net, the Internet-based communication network provider, has signed up Japan Tobacco Inc. to its system.
   The Japanese company becomes the first representative of the tobacco industry to join the Bolero community.
   Japan Tobacco uses the Bolero system in parallel with traditional paper-based methods of processing trade documentation on shipments of cigarettes from Japan to its Asian subsidiaries.
   “The plan is to extend Bolero.net application to the importation of materials and other items and evaluate whether Bolero.net will be useful on its own to administer the shipments and to phase out paper,” the Internet-based trade facilitator said.
   Besides its tobacco interests, Japan Tobacco has activities in soft drinks, processed food and pharmaceuticals.
