Beacon Council names 2007-2008 leadership

Beacon Council names 2007-2008 leadership The Beacon Council, a Miami-Dade County public-private economic development partnership, has elected its leadership and assigned leaders for various programs for fiscal year 2007-2008.
   Pete Pizarro, president and chief executive officer of Telefonica USA, is the new chairman of the group. Tere Blanca, senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield of Florida Inc., is the chair-elect. Hector Mojena, managing partner for KPMC LLC in Miami, is treasurer. Sheldon Anderson, president of Northern Trust Bank of Florida, is secretary. Frank Nero, who heads the day-to-day operations of the council, returns as president and CEO.
   Jean-Michel Caffin, managing partner, Axis America/Shenfield Group, is the chair of the international program. Dominique Virchaux, managing partner of Virchaux and Partners Inc., is special liaison for the 2008 Inter-American Development Bank Conference.
