Equinox, which also offers bookkeeping, tax, and business services for owner-operators, said its Equinox Mailbox service takes mail received at home, scans it, and uploads it to a secure and private online portal so that drivers can access it from any computer, laptop, or mobile device.
“In today’s world, there is no reason for anyone to be inconvenienced by the inefficiencies of paper,” said Jon James, vice president of sales and marketing with Equinox’s parent company, OnRamp Transportation Services. “Drivers can now run every aspect of their business from the back of their sleeper just as well as a CEO can run his or her business from a corner office.”
Equinox said it can provide the Mailbox service for thousands of paper documents and provide them with no loss of clarity or readability. Drivers can also zoom in on pages to read fine print or turn the page like similar digital documents.
Truck drivers are assigned a private and secure archive of mail received by day and month. Each original paper copy of the document archived by Equinox for a pre-determined amount of time in accordance with federal laws, and can be forwarded on to any destination specified by the customer.
The effort is part of a larger trend in digital technologies that bring the comfort and actions of home to an “anytime anywhere” mindset through cloud services. – Geoff Whiting
