Triton starts South America service

   The non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVO) Triton Overseas Transport on Thursday said it has started weekly full container load (FCL) and less than container load (LCL) services to and from South America via the Port of Houston.
   The service, which was launched in the last month, connects Houston to Buenos Aires; Santos, Brazil; Valparaiso, Chile; and Callao, Peru. On-carriage transportation throughout each South American country is available, the carrier said.
   Triton, which is servicing the expansive North American region from the Mississippi River to the west coast, offers domestic trucking services as well as 16 container freight stations.
   “By connecting to South America via the Port of Houston, Triton is able to offer a direct line of transportation that not only enables expedited transit times, but supports our commitment to offer low rates and improved service to our ever-expanding global customer base,” said Lisa Cumbess, manager of the LCL department at Triton Overseas Transport. – Eric Johnson
