Lufthansa orders 41 new Airbus planes

Lufthansa orders 41 new Airbus planes Lufthansa, Europe's largest airline, said Wednesday it is ordering 41 new planes from Airbus to bolster its own fleet and the fleet of its Swiss International Air Lines subsidiary.
   The Colonge, Germany-based Deutsche Lufthansa AG did not give the value of the deal.
   Thirty of the new aircraft — 20 A321s, four A320s and six A319s ' are destined for Lufthansa’s European routes, with the planes set for delivery from 2011.
   Swiss International will receive two Airbus A320s from the order, which will join the carrier's fleet starting in 2011, and nine A330-300 jets, scheduled for delivery starting in 2009. The new A330-300 planes will replace the Basil, Switzerland-based carrier’s existing A330-200s.
