Chinese flu no threat to trade

   Health regulators have received reports of at least 21 cases of people being infected with influenza A(H7N9) in China, leading the World Health Organization to spread the word about the virus.
   The WHO has not recommended the adjustment of travel or trade plans in the near future.
   “There is no evidence to link the current cases with any Chinese products,” the organization wrote on its website. “WHO advises against any restrictions to trade at this time.”
   The organization classifies the number of outbreaks as “very low.” Of the 21 reported cases, six have resulted in death, 12 have been severe and three turned out to be mild. According to the WHO, the Chinese government is actively investigating the outbreak and has formed an inter-governmental task force to handle the issue.
   The International Civil Aviation Organization reiterated the WHO’s stance on the virus, saying the virus is not a threat to travel or trade. The two organizations are working together closely on the issue through the Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation network.
