3PD buys neighbor Affinity Logistics 3PD has acquired fellow Atlanta-based last-mile logistics and delivery firm Affinity Logistics (HD) Corp. for an undisclosed amount.
   3PD said the acquisition increases its projected annual revenues from $200 million to nearly $300 million and increases its number of drivers and trucks throughout the country to 1,500 and 1,350 respectively.
   “Like our merger with GTS last December, this acquisition is part of our plan to be a well-rounded nationwide last-mile leader in a market that has traditionally offered only regional and local solutions,” said Karl Meyer, 3PD’s chairman and chief executive officer. “The last-mile heavy goods delivery industry needs a player that can do the heavy lifting of being a coast-to-coast solution with a variety of service options, and we’re determined to be that company.”
