Emirates SkyCargo commences Luxembourg freighter service

The Dubai, UAE-based cargo airline launched its first weekly freighter service to Luxembourg Monday as part of a collaborative service agreement with Cargolux.    Emirates SkyCargo launched its first weekly freighter service to Luxembourg on June 12, according to the airline.
   A Boeing 777 freighter flew from Dubai World Central to Luxembourg earlier this week as part of the “strategic operational partnership” between Emirates SkyCargo and Cargolux Airlines announced earlier this year.
   As a result, customers of both carriers now have access to a wider range of destinations and services through block space and interline agreements, said Emirates SkyCargo.
   The new weekly freighter service will arrive in Luxembourg every Monday and depart for Dubai World Center on the same day, according to the airline.
   Ground handling of each company’s freighters will be carried out at similar facilities to allow for seamless transit of cargo between the two air cargo operators. The common EU Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification of both hubs will also help facilitate smooth cargo transits, said Emirates SkyCargo.
