Mallory Alexander acquires forwarder Quast & Co.

Mallory Alexander acquires forwarder Quast & Co.    Memphis-based logistics service provider Mallory Alexander International Logistics said Monday it has acquired Quast & Co., Inc., a forwarder and non-vessel-operating common carrier based in Chicago.
   Terms of the takeover were not disclosed.
   Following the takeover Mallory Alexander will offer the specialized services provided by Quast & Co., including import/export, customs brokerage, international freight forwarding and consulting, as well as the air freight forwarder services of affiliate Quast Air International Inc.
   The acquisition also includes Quast & Co. affiliate Ocean Air Transport, which is licensed by the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission to act as an non-vessel-operating common carrier.
   Last year, Mallory Alexander International Logistics was formed by the merger of two units of the Mallory Group, freight forwarder Alexander International and warehousing contractor Mallory Distribution.
