JamaicaÆs Hylton urges caution on Euro agreement Jamaican Foreign Minister Anthony Hylton has issued a warning against Caribbean participation in a proposed European economic agreement if the smaller nations are not satisfied with the deal.
   Addressing the Jamaican Senate, Hylton said Caribbean nations do not have to meet the scheduled deadline for an agreement by January 2008. European nations from the Economic Partnership Agreements are working on an agreement with former colony countries from Africa, the Caribbean region and the Pacific, also known as the ACP bloc.
   'We will not be forced to adhere to a timeline if we are not satisfied that we have negotiated the best possible agreement for stakeholders in Jamaica and the wider CARIFORM, since this agreement will constitute the regime for trade with the European Union for the foreseeable future,' Hylton said, according to a report in Jamaica Today.
