McAleenan rejoins CBP in Field Operations

McAleenan rejoins CBP in Field Operations    Kevin McAleenan has returned to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, this time as deputy assistant commissioner for the Office of Field Operations, spokeswoman Angelica De Cima confirmed.
   McAleenan rejoined CBP after two years as vice president and partner with The Sentinel Group, a homeland security consulting and government affairs firm founded by former CBP official Brian Goebel.
   McAleenan served as executive director of the Office of Anti-Terrorism at CBP under former Commissioner Robert Bonner and afterwards was area port director for Los Angeles International Airport, where he was responsible for passenger and cargo screening operations at 17 area airports. He was also a counselor and senior policy advisor to Bonner on antiterrorism and intelligence matters before a dedicated office was established.
   He replaces Robert Jacksta, who retired earlier this year. McAleenan reports to Assistant Commissioner Thomas Winkowski. ' Eric Kulisch
